Our Mission is to sponsor, encourage, assist and promote enjoyment and understanding of the Visual Arts in Northwest Arkansas.
Celebrating the Art and Artists of Northwest Arkansas
Northwest Arkansas is rich in artistic talent and we’re proud to have so many amazing artists from diverse backgrounds and occupations from this area as part of the ANA community. We offer a welcoming and inclusive place for artists of all kinds to showcase their work, learn new skills, and be part of the growing art scene in Northwest Arkansas and the surrounding area.
We are proud to present our new face to Northwest Arkansas. We have a new logo, website, and a new home, plus we are finding more ways to participate in the arts in the area. Watch for new events and opportunities coming up in the months ahead.

ANA Gallery @ the Rogers Experimental House

Gary has created a new class in watercolor that we think most people who paint landscapes will enjoy. It’s called Stylized Landscape in that most everything in the painting will be unlike your average rectangle, square, or straight line. We’ll create a more stylized approach to everything plus add a bit of abstract to the overall painting.

In this course we will work with color and contrast in both “wet-on-wet” and “dry brush” techniques to create dynamic, expressive landscape skies. Special attention will be given to flat washes, gradating washes and contrasting tonal washes to develop effects depicting various times of day, lighting and weather conditions in landscape painting with a strong emphasis on the hues of the sky. We will work on 3-4 different scenarios (time permitting). Come to learn while having fun!
